Our Projects
Creating Biodiversity Corridors
In partnership with Natural Urban Forests, we create small pocket forests to help establish biodiversity corridors, learning from traditional knowledge of first nations peoples. In addition to enhancing biodiversity, projects help strengthen social cohesion among people in the community, in particular youth as they learn the multiple benefits of green spaces to improve air quality by capturing pollutants and absorb carbon dioxide, helping reduce smog, dust, and greenhouse gases in dense city environments. Trees provide shade and enable evapotranspiration, lowering local temperatures and reducing the need for air conditioning in nearby buildings.
Ocean Exploration
Exploration is at the origin of every scientific discovery. Uncovering the unknown and sharing this with researchers and the public allows for the creation of knowledge. Our explorations are the subject of our photography and documentary films, interviews, and exhibitions.

A forest is rising in the heart of downtown Los Angeles
On Jan 31, history takes root at Gloria Molina Grand Park. We invite you to witness the power of nature as we plant roots for the FIRST-EVER urban #MiyawakiForest in #LosAngeles. A biodiversity hotspot designed to grow ten times faster and thirty times denser than traditional planting.
Join us for a #PlantingDay of science, culture, and community stewardship as we rewild the park for “One Seed: The Power of Nature,” alongside @legacy_la, @torydipietro, @naturalurbanforests, and Marylee Jones, Gatherer and Member of the Yakama Nation.
We are transforming 650 sq. ft. into a thriving native ecosystem. This gathering honors the land and the First Peoples of Los Angeles (Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, Chumash) with a special opening blessing and a hands-on reforestation demonstration.

Internships
Every year, Mundalis partners with a university for students to undertake targeted research on topical subjects related to Harmony with Nature. From January to April 2026, we are partnering with Lex Sphere, a student-led association at the Universidad Científica del Sur (Scientific University of the South) based in Lima, Peru, primarily within the Faculty of Law and Economics. Student interns are conducting research on how to advance the concept of Rights of Nature in select countries within the framework of international agreements and the international policy negotiations taking place over the next five years on the post-2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The work of these students will be published in their university’s publications as well as various social media platforms. We would be happy for you to donate to this training.
